Oculus Quest has released a new update for A Township Tale, which fixes a few of the bugs and issues that were raised following the game`s release.

The most significant change is the tutorial feature of the game. It is now optional and may be removed at any time. I tried out the tutorial on my own in the last week and found it to be quite confusing and oddly structured. This change will no doubt be a welcome one for players looking to jump right into the depths of. The developers have spoken about the Quest tutorial change.

Play Township

We understand that the tutorial is the most stressful thing for novice players trying to make it into A Township Tale. We`ve decided that even it were the case that the Tutorial was flawless (which it isn`t), it should still be available. This lets players with various degrees of adaptability to begin their journey into the game`s world whenever it suits them. The tutorial can be returned to the Main Menu at any point should certain aspects aren`t clear to players. However, we suggest that you continue with the Tutorial.

Learn Township

Jamie explained the numerous ways A Township Tale is ambitious and overwhelming at launch. We felt we`d need more time before we could give our opinion. The in-game instructions for the tasks are “lacking” and the experience as a whole is very “fiddly and physically.” You can read more about the game here.

Accessibility features have also been upgraded in this patch (which the team felt needed to be addressed due to the growing player base since the Quest release) as well as adjustable player height. The team says that methods for accessing belt docks can be improved in the coming update. There have been improvements and fixes made to the nutrition and fullness system, as well as general issues.

You can check out the full set of patch notes here. Quest players can download the patch. The changes to the mechanics will be made to PC VR “in in the near future”.
